  • Are you grieving a loss?

    Our dedicated team—made up of trained staff and volunteers—is here to support people navigating grief, loss, trauma, or significant life changes. This includes, but is not limited to:

    - Death of a loved one (family member, partner, friend, pet)
    - Divorce or separation
    -  Loss of a friendship or close relationship
    - Miscarriage or stillbirth
    - Loss of health (chronic illness, disability, terminal diagnosis)
    - Loss of independence or mobility
    - Loss of employment or financial stability
    - Retirement, especially when identity is tied to career
    - Loss of home (due to disaster, eviction, relocation)
    - Loss of safety or trust, particularly after trauma or abuse
    - Loss of a dream or future plan
    - Loss of identity, often linked with major life transitions
    - Loss due to addiction—either your own or watching a loved one struggle
    - Loss tied to aging, such as cognitive decline or changing roles in family and society

  • Are you experiencing a complex mental health issue?

     

    NALAG may not be suitable for individuals experiencing complex mental health issues, such as:

    - Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD) or Complex Grief Disorder
    - Complex PTSD
    - Bipolar Disorder
    - Borderline Personality Disorder
    - Schizophrenia
    - Active suicidal thoughts or behaviours
    - Substance dependence
    - History of psychosis
    - Recent admission to a mental health inpatient unit (within the last 12 months)

Telephone Support with a dedicated Grief Support Volunteer for the duration of your support.

Face-to-Face*

Face-to-face Grief Support is available -  at the NALAG Centre in Dubbo and Mudgee and by arrangement in the Hunter areas - for adults + children.

National FREE Online Grief Support is available to children and adults by our trained Grief Support Volunteers
